Recognize your blessings and gifts to receive
You’ve swallowed the poison thoughts of others
Been beaten down by bullies and babble
Refuse to wither from the assault
To find your bearings discover a sanctuary of solitude
Be still and silent
Breathe and stay quiet
Wait for all the chatter to dissipate
Listen to your heart beat

Oh, this one was a terribly hard one for me to write and to record ... I hope that it helps someone. These are the final ten days of a project, but can stand alone as we prepare to recommit ourselves to the filling of the Holy Spirit. In order to be filled, we must first be emptied. In this chat, I'm going to do my best to demonstrate emptying out my sorrows -- in order to make more room for the Holy Spirit. By the way, did you notice: bleeding hearts/sorrows?

I couldn't find the quote from St Faustina that I referred to, but I thought I would share this with you. It's beautiful: "When you approach the confessional, know this, that I Myself am waiting there for you. I am only hidden by the priest, but I Myself act in your soul. Here the misery of the soul meets the God of mercy. Tell souls that from this fount of mercy sols draw graces solely with the vessel of trust."

Welcome to the video series to study of "Kingdom Now: Pursuing Unity in the Body of Christ to Change the World." This video introduces Lesson 6. Scriptures referenced in this video:Eph. 4:11-1318John 20:20-23John 8:1-11Please note: We didn't realize until we were recording this that we had very different views on John 20:20-23 and that I really don't feel comfortable endorsing the view Pat expressed. This is an example of how we can have differences of opinion about things, especially unclear verses in Scripture, but still love one another and work together for the furtherance of the Kingdom. My belief on this is that not every believer is given the authority to forgive or not forgive in such a way that those positions are reflected in Heaven. Rather, I believe that authority was given first to the Apostles and then to those determined to carry on their ministry by the laying on of hands. My concern is that the belief that "any Christian can offer absolution" would mean that a less mature Christian could keep someone from being forgiven in Heaven. Rather, Jesus would have entrusted this responsibility to those who are proven in their godliness and maturity, approved by the laying on of hands. I also became Catholic since recording this with Pat, and I have to say that the Catholic view does exactly what we were looking for: It cultivates a culture of grace, accepting that we all sin, sin is taken seriously, we confess to a priest (and in the Mass, we confess generally to one another), who lovingly takes it very seriously, and we receive absolution (and sometimes counsel). Either view (Pat's or mine at that time) could be perceived from reading this verse. What do you think? I'm super excited to bring you this new series about the Apostles' Creed, the early Church's statement of faith which lists the beliefs of all Christians: Protestant, Catholic, whatever denomination.

I'd also really appreciate your prayers, and I share some things you can pray for me in this video. (And no, those are not rays from an angel coming in at the side. Just my blinds letting some light through.)
Here are the words to the Apostles' Creed. It was written in Latin originally, so there are a few different English translations (kind of like different translations of the Bible). They all mean the same thing. We'll talk through every part of this.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth;and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again from the dead;He ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
