How does God's almightiness affect me? In this video, I'll share with you how God has drawn me closer to Him in my suffering, through these very aspects of His character that we're discussing. So think about something you're going through (or suffering you've gone through or someone else is experiencing). How do these things apply in that situation? How does that change your perspective? How does God's Almightiness affect your uncertainty about tomorrow? (Be sure to see the song below called "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow."For my first video a few days after Bill died: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AHc_uRPSVo&list=PL-qJGkcLR7n6-g95rIHJX9Ng0uk0oHBvvFor more details about how I applied these principles to that situation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAHOJWOdvzo&list=PL-qJGkcLR7n5mkDbu28FiJ-MEbnGyY5WY&index=4I can't tell you how important I believe it is to understand these things about God. And there are even more things to know about Him!!Here are some verses to look up. Think about how these inform the subject of God's Almightiness.Psalm 139 (yes, again!)Psalm 147:5Proverbs 15:3Isaiah 40:28-31Romans 8:28Romans 8:32Romans 11:33Hebrews 4:13I John 3:1Genesis 1:3Genesis 18:14Job 42:2Matthew 19:23-26Luke 1:37Ephesians 3:20Philippians 4:13 (think about this one)Tip: Don't ever balk at reading a passage of Scripture again and again. Every time you open God's Word, there's an opportunity for Him to speak to you. It's truly worth reading over and over and allowing Him that access to your heart and mind. Another tip: If a verse or passage is recommended to you again and again (especially by different sources), consider memorizing it. It may be something that God wants you to have in your heart for a future occasion.Spend some time worshiping God, the Almighty One. Here are some of my favorite songs about our Mighty God. I'm super excited to bring you this new series about the Apostles' Creed, the early Church's statement of faith which lists the beliefs of all Christians: Protestant, Catholic, whatever denomination.
Be sure to subscribe if you want to know whenever the next video is out.
I'd also really appreciate your prayers, and I share some things you can pray for me in this video. (And no, those are not rays from an angel coming in at the side. Just my blinds letting some light through.)
Here are the words to the Apostles' Creed. It was written in Latin originally, so there are a few different English translations (kind of like different translations of the Bible). They all mean the same thing. We'll talk through every part of this.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth;and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again from the dead;He ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
I hope you'll share in the comments below any questions you have about the Apostles' Creed, so I can be sure to talk about them.

If you want to see what the prison was like that the Apostle Paul was kept in, here's a good video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaDFI6s5S1M
I had memorized the book of Philippians a few years before that. I remember standing there, in the prison, where St Paul had been, and quietly reciting portions of it, weeping because it took on a totally new meaning, seeing the conditions in which he was writing, and how it influenced his choice of words. If I remember right, that's what I journaled about for days, it had such a profound effect on me. Even more than the colosseum.
This is a good video to follow up with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Q1wMuyg4XY
If worry is a concern for you, I've written a book of prayers for dealing with this https://amzn.to/3N0UNV6 and have a series about anxiety you might be interested in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-mI07Lf0jU&list=PL-qJGkcLR7n4IdKHRuYgDmC8qqeJaNmYH&index=2
This continues to be an ongoing struggle for me. I want to be honest about that. Dealing with worry/anxiety the ways that I suggest do not suddenly cure you of it. But I've seen increasing improvement and I just keep practicing these things. If there's interest, I've thought about doing on online retreat about this, following up with quarterly times "together" (online). Let me know if that's something you think would be helpful.

If you would like my mom's book about their prayerwalk across America, it's called Putting A Face on America. It's full of photos and drawings, as well as the story of their walk. It's an oversized book and fun to read, appropriate for adults or families. You can get it for a donation of any size plus $8.95 shipping. Make your check to Seek Him First Ministries and contact me through the Facebook page below for the mailing address. Tax deduction can be taken for any portion of the donation over $25 (the value of the book) per IRS rules. (My dad, God rest his soul, would turn over in his grave if I didn't tell you that.) Any donations will help to fund upcoming prayerwalks. She's 80 years old now and ready to work on prayerwalking the states she hasn't prayerwalked in yet.
You can also see my interviews with my mom on this channel. Many are about prayerwalking, and there are some about her other hikes, spiritual insights, etc.

This was so much fun! I was interviewed for a change. :-)
(You can make this as deep as you want -- See further "assignments" below.)
We started talking about Noah today. He's so important that we have three coloring pages about him.If you want to go deeper, do any or all of these:
1) Read Genesis 6.
2) Write down in a few words what strikes you from that chapter.
3) Ask God to show you why He made that stand out to you.
4) Write down 3 things (insights, facts, questions, ideas, things to do) that you want to hold onto.
5) What are 3 things you want to pray about this? (Thanking God, asking for His forgiveness, asking for His help? etc)

Discovering God's will in our lives begins with a trusting commitment to obedience ... before we even know what He's asking of us. This prayer, part of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, is a great way to align ourselves to His will, to come to trust Him more deeply, and to have the faith to obey Him without question, mirroring Mary's response: "Be it done unto me according to thy word." In this video, we'll talk through the Eternal God prayer line by line and I'll share how it's worked out in my life over this past year. If you'd like to pray the entire Chaplet of Divine Mercy with me, you can do so here: https://crwdview.com/watch/cha....plet-of-divine-mercy I demonstrate it using a rosary (you can also use your fingers) and the text is provided in writing on the video for you. There is no discussion in that video. It's meant to guide you in prayer each day, if you'd like.If you'd like an explanation and demonstration of how to use a rosary for the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, you can find it here: https://crwdview.com/watch/MNyFMapCYvQUVte

Those of us who aren't Roman Catholic but want to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, might find the thought of using a rosary mysterious ... daunting ... confusing ... and possibly even troubling. In this video, I'm going to go over the mechanics of using a rosary to say this powerful prayer. (PS, Since recording this, I've become Catholic.)
If you have any questions, please feel free to write them in the comments. I've planned a series on the Chaplet and telling me your questions will help me to know what you're wondering about. This prayer has become incredibly meaningful for me and I'd love to share it with you. I hope you'll come to love it as I do, and that it will draw you ever closer, with gratitude and confidence, to Jesus.
If you don't have a rosary, God gave you the perfect tool: your fingers! Your ten fingers will help you count a decade. When I'm without a rosary, I move my wedding ring along the fingers of one hand to keep track of the five decades. If you'd like to have a rosary, this is my favorite and quite inexpensive: https://amzn.to/2T84mqN The hematite feels wonderful! Do a little research about hematite and it will be even more meaningful. (Hint: "hema" means "blood".)
Oh and the Chaplet is one of the motifs in my book "To Love Mercy," fifth in the Isaiah Cadre series, which you can get here: https://amzn.to/3AMmWKx A hematite rosary is also part of the story.

Please note that if you use the link for the rosary on Amazon, I may receive a very small fee for the referral. It doesn't cost you more and it helps keep me off the street and out of trouble, as my late husband, Bill, used to say. Thank you for your help and for praying with me.
