How does God's almightiness affect me? In this video, I'll share with you how God has drawn me closer to Him in my suffering, through these very aspects of His character that we're discussing. So think about something you're going through (or suffering you've gone through or someone else is experiencing). How do these things apply in that situation? How does that change your perspective? How does God's Almightiness affect your uncertainty about tomorrow? (Be sure to see the song below called "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow."For my first video a few days after Bill died: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AHc_uRPSVo&list=PL-qJGkcLR7n6-g95rIHJX9Ng0uk0oHBvvFor more details about how I applied these principles to that situation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAHOJWOdvzo&list=PL-qJGkcLR7n5mkDbu28FiJ-MEbnGyY5WY&index=4I can't tell you how important I believe it is to understand these things about God. And there are even more things to know about Him!!Here are some verses to look up. Think about how these inform the subject of God's Almightiness.Psalm 139 (yes, again!)Psalm 147:5Proverbs 15:3Isaiah 40:28-31Romans 8:28Romans 8:32Romans 11:33Hebrews 4:13I John 3:1Genesis 1:3Genesis 18:14Job 42:2Matthew 19:23-26Luke 1:37Ephesians 3:20Philippians 4:13 (think about this one)Tip: Don't ever balk at reading a passage of Scripture again and again. Every time you open God's Word, there's an opportunity for Him to speak to you. It's truly worth reading over and over and allowing Him that access to your heart and mind. Another tip: If a verse or passage is recommended to you again and again (especially by different sources), consider memorizing it. It may be something that God wants you to have in your heart for a future occasion.Spend some time worshiping God, the Almighty One. Here are some of my favorite songs about our Mighty God. How about sharing yours in the comments below?Ancient of Days: https://www.youtube.com/watch?....v=V4dR_zuB3qkAlmight God: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUyfU1_STW0I Know Who Holds Tomorrow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWLm3asMiGo

I'm super excited to bring you this new series about the Apostles' Creed, the early Church's statement of faith which lists the beliefs of all Christians: Protestant, Catholic, whatever denomination.

Be sure to subscribe if you want to know whenever the next video is out.

I'd also really appreciate your prayers, and I share some things you can pray for me in this video. (And no, those are not rays from an angel coming in at the side. Just my blinds letting some light through.)

Here are the words to the Apostles' Creed. It was written in Latin originally, so there are a few different English translations (kind of like different translations of the Bible). They all mean the same thing. We'll talk through every part of this.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth;and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again from the dead;He ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

I hope you'll share in the comments below any questions you have about the Apostles' Creed, so I can be sure to talk about them.

Inspiration to just do it: Cat is called up from the audience to sing. Nervously she agrees. She only just learned that song and had sung it once with them. Keyboard player Colton, wrote this and many other songs the kids sing. The band, Colton, Mike & Brady have opened for artists; Tenille Arts, Eddie Montgomery and many others. Colton's songs are a big hit whenever they play out! When Catherine is in town she happily joins them, a former lead singer herself, they all make beautiful music.

They set boundaries by saying no. They are able to say no without feeling guilty, because they know what they are saying yes to. The only way to say no to anything is to have a deeper, more important yes. You may think you could never say no and not feel guilty. That may be true in the beginning. But the first step is saying no, even if that means saying no and feeling guilty. Better to say no and feel guilty than to say yes to the wrong things. Emotionally people also understand that other people use guilt to get what they want because it works, and they take themselves out of those manipulations by saying no.6. And like so many of life’s most important lessons, nobody teaches us these things. Here are 15 things emotionally healthy people do to stay emotionally healthy.1. Self-Awareness. They observe themselves. They are constantly discovering new things about themselves. getting to know themselves more. Self-awareness is the first step toward emotional health, but it is not a once and done activity. It is the first step toward emotional health every day.In moving towards becoming emotionally healthy is self-awareness. When you practice self-awareness, you are able to see what habits and beliefs serve you and which do not. You can do so by engaging in self-reflection and self-analysis on a regular basis.Observe themselves closely and deeply. Listen to their heart mind body and soul.2. Awareness of Others. Emotional healthy people are aware of how what they do and say effects other people. They are able to put themselves in the other person’s shoes, and as a result, they are quick to recognize the needs of others. 3. Emotionally healthy people question their assumptions about themselves, other people, relationships, and life in general. 4. They allow themselves to be angry. Most of us were told at some point in our lives that anger is bad or not to lose our tempers. But anger isn’t bad. It just is. It’s part of the human condition. You are angry about something right now. You may have been angry about it for 5 minutes or fifteen years. One thing is certain, the anger will stay, until we find healthy ways to process it."If you have not read LIFE IS MESSY, order your copy today: https://amzn.to/2TTgZKn Subscribe to Matthew’s YouTube Channel today! https://www.youtube.com/c/Matt....hewKellyAuthor/featu Matthew’s 60 Second Wisdom delivered to your inbox: https://www.matthewkelly.com/subscribe The Best Version of Yourself and 60 Second Wisdom are registered trademarks.#MatthewKelly #BestVersionOfYourself #60SecondWisdom #BestVersion

If you want to see what the prison was like that the Apostle Paul was kept in, here's a good video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaDFI6s5S1M

I had memorized the book of Philippians a few years before that. I remember standing there, in the prison, where St Paul had been, and quietly reciting portions of it, weeping because it took on a totally new meaning, seeing the conditions in which he was writing, and how it influenced his choice of words. If I remember right, that's what I journaled about for days, it had such a profound effect on me. Even more than the colosseum.

This is a good video to follow up with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Q1wMuyg4XY

If worry is a concern for you, I've written a book of prayers for dealing with this https://amzn.to/3N0UNV6 and have a series about anxiety you might be interested in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-mI07Lf0jU&list=PL-qJGkcLR7n4IdKHRuYgDmC8qqeJaNmYH&index=2

This continues to be an ongoing struggle for me. I want to be honest about that. Dealing with worry/anxiety the ways that I suggest do not suddenly cure you of it. But I've seen increasing improvement and I just keep practicing these things. If there's interest, I've thought about doing on online retreat about this, following up with quarterly times "together" (online). Let me know if that's something you think would be helpful.

The book we're using for another study (Right Brain/Left Brain Bible Overview): https://amzn.to/3wPhsOg Yep, this will be for adults. We talk about the Bible stories, how they relate to other parts of the Bible and how they can help you live your life in Christ!

Here are the neutral colored gel highlighters ("adult crayons"): https://amzn.to/3MopRx6
Here are the other (brighter) highlighters that I'm using: https://amzn.to/3vkC54m
And the newer gel crayons that I showed recently, but am not yet using: https://amzn.to/3GmWidB

In yet another study, we're using a Bible study guide that goes with my novel, Now It Will Spring Forth. You can get the e-book version of the novel here FREE: https://dl.bookfunnel.com/es49ch5nyr (And if you like the book, you'll be able to get the sequel free, too.) If you prefer a paperback copy, that's here: https://amzn.to/3wRVnim The workbook for the study can be found here: https://amzn.to/3lKNNj2 or feel free to just write in your notebook or journal.
