If you would like my mom's book about their prayerwalk across America, it's called Putting A Face on America. It's full of photos and drawings, as well as the story of their walk. It's an oversized book and fun to read, appropriate for adults or families. You can get it for a donation of any size plus $8.95 shipping. Make your check to Seek Him First Ministries and contact me through the Facebook page below for the mailing address. Tax deduction can be taken for any portion of the donation over $25 (the value of the book) per IRS rules. (My dad, God rest his soul, would turn over in his grave if I didn't tell you that.) Any donations will help to fund upcoming prayerwalks. She's 80 years old now and ready to work on prayerwalking the states she hasn't prayerwalked in yet.

You can also see my interviews with my mom on this channel. Many are about prayerwalking, and there are some about her other hikes, spiritual insights, etc.

In this video, I teach you a Quaker practice called Centering Down. This practice is also VERY helpful with worry and anxiety. I first learned about Centering Down back in the 70s from Richard Foster. Here's his absolutely wonderful book about spiritual disciplines, Celebration of Discipline: https://amzn.to/3wU49ew By the way, I almost always read e-books these days (other than "real" books). This is one of the few that I would recommend getting a hard copy of.

Scriptures used in this video:
I Peter 4:12: “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.”
John 10:10

When I was in Poetry School, I would often read anthologies of poems, well, I would actually just open a book and see what poem was on the page. The peom Wild Geese by Mary Oliver was a poem I had heard before, but I can remember the moment I really got it for the first time and broke down in tears at the realization that I did not have to be good.

Enjoy.

(You can make this as deep as you want -- See further "assignments" below.)

We started talking about Noah today. He's so important that we have three coloring pages about him.If you want to go deeper, do any or all of these:

1) Read Genesis 6.
2) Write down in a few words what strikes you from that chapter.
3) Ask God to show you why He made that stand out to you.
4) Write down 3 things (insights, facts, questions, ideas, things to do) that you want to hold onto.
5) What are 3 things you want to pray about this? (Thanking God, asking for His forgiveness, asking for His help? etc)
6) Write down something you learned about God from Genesis 6.
7) Write down something you learned about yourself (or people in general) from Genesis 6.
8) Write down one thing that you want to change in your life as a result of Genesis 6 (it's okay if it's really small - all those small things will add up).

It would be great if you share in the comments below.

We were reading Genesis 6 in this video.
Related Scriptures that we talked about in this video:
Hebrews 11:1-2, 6-7
Hebrews 12:1-2 (also read verses 3-4)

Discovering God's will in our lives begins with a trusting commitment to obedience ... before we even know what He's asking of us. This prayer, part of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, is a great way to align ourselves to His will, to come to trust Him more deeply, and to have the faith to obey Him without question, mirroring Mary's response: "Be it done unto me according to thy word." In this video, we'll talk through the Eternal God prayer line by line and I'll share how it's worked out in my life over this past year. If you'd like to pray the entire Chaplet of Divine Mercy with me, you can do so here: ⁣https://crwdview.com/watch/cha....plet-of-divine-mercy I demonstrate it using a rosary (you can also use your fingers) and the text is provided in writing on the video for you. There is no discussion in that video. It's meant to guide you in prayer each day, if you'd like.If you'd like an explanation and demonstration of how to use a rosary for the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, you can find it here: ⁣https://crwdview.com/watch/MNyFMapCYvQUVte

Those of us who aren't Roman Catholic but want to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, might find the thought of using a rosary mysterious ... daunting ... confusing ... and possibly even troubling. In this video, I'm going to go over the mechanics of using a rosary to say this powerful prayer. (PS, Since recording this, I've become Catholic.)

If you have any questions, please feel free to write them in the comments. I've planned a series on the Chaplet and telling me your questions will help me to know what you're wondering about. This prayer has become incredibly meaningful for me and I'd love to share it with you. I hope you'll come to love it as I do, and that it will draw you ever closer, with gratitude and confidence, to Jesus.

If you don't have a rosary, God gave you the perfect tool: your fingers! Your ten fingers will help you count a decade. When I'm without a rosary, I move my wedding ring along the fingers of one hand to keep track of the five decades. If you'd like to have a rosary, this is my favorite and quite inexpensive: https://amzn.to/2T84mqN The hematite feels wonderful! Do a little research about hematite and it will be even more meaningful. (Hint: "hema" means "blood".)

Oh and the Chaplet is one of the motifs in my book "To Love Mercy," fifth in the Isaiah Cadre series, which you can get here: ⁣https://amzn.to/3AMmWKx A hematite rosary is also part of the story.

Please note that if you use the link for the rosary on Amazon, I may receive a very small fee for the referral. It doesn't cost you more and it helps keep me off the street and out of trouble, as my late husband, Bill, used to say. Thank you for your help and for praying with me.

Welcome to the video series to study of "Kingdom Now: Pursuing Unity in the Body of Christ to Change the World." This video introduces Lesson 6. Scriptures referenced in this video:Eph. 4:11-1318John 20:20-23John 8:1-11Please note: We didn't realize until we were recording this that we had very different views on John 20:20-23 and that I really don't feel comfortable endorsing the view Pat expressed. This is an example of how we can have differences of opinion about things, especially unclear verses in Scripture, but still love one another and work together for the furtherance of the Kingdom. My belief on this is that not every believer is given the authority to forgive or not forgive in such a way that those positions are reflected in Heaven. Rather, I believe that authority was given first to the Apostles and then to those determined to carry on their ministry by the laying on of hands. My concern is that the belief that "any Christian can offer absolution" would mean that a less mature Christian could keep someone from being forgiven in Heaven. Rather, Jesus would have entrusted this responsibility to those who are proven in their godliness and maturity, approved by the laying on of hands. I also became Catholic since recording this with Pat, and I have to say that the Catholic view does exactly what we were looking for: It cultivates a culture of grace, accepting that we all sin, sin is taken seriously, we confess to a priest (and in the Mass, we confess generally to one another), who lovingly takes it very seriously, and we receive absolution (and sometimes counsel). Either view (Pat's or mine at that time) could be perceived from reading this verse. What do you think? We would encourage you to search it out for yourselves, discuss it with one another, and come to your own conclusion. And stay friends. To buy Kingdom Now: https://amzn.to/3hWY5Zd (affiliate link) .
