One of the hardest days ever. Three years later, I'm weeping, watching this and remembering. I pray that no one else has to go through this, but I know people will. O dear Lord God, please strengthen them.
I was blessed to have my parents with me, as well as very protective and helpful state troopers. I can't say enough wonderful things about Tennessee State troopers. When I see one parked someplace, I've gone over to them several times and thanked them for all they do, briefly sharing my experience with them. They're amazing and I'm so grateful for them.

just an update about getting out of the hospital and in my new home.

How and why Chester River Knitting Company became involved with the Cambodian community. This is part two in a series of the history of Chester River Knitting Company. As many of you know, my late husband, Bill Ruckelshaus, knitted sweaters on vintage hand-operated knitting machines for over 40 years. His sweaters were sought by people all over the world who appreciated his quality and the longevity of his sweaters. He used natural fibers such as wool, cotton, linen, camel hair, alpaca, and silk, as well as many others. He knit classic styles which would be appropriate for years and could be made trendy with accessories. Tragically, he was killed in an accident on his way to Maryland on July 14, 2019. I've created a Facebook group in which you can learn about his sweaters, the art which may possibly have gone to his grave with him, more about this wonderful man (I'm not at all biased), and have the opportunity to purchase some of his sweaters, if you'd like. (I'm required to sell them for his estate and I'd prefer to have them bought by people who care about his work.) Feel free to invite your friends. Today, it just doesn't seem real. I'm not sure why. God's timing is perfect. I know that in my heart, even though none of this makes sense. It's important to pay attention to what God's doing in your life and learn from it and how this will help you through hard times.It’s really, really, horribly hard. I don’t know how I’m supposed to live without him. But I have to, and I’ve seen enough other women go through this that I know somehow I will.
THIS IS WHAT I KNOW:God knew it was going to happen.He could have stopped it.He didn’t.He loves Bill.He loves me.He wants our best.I have to hold on to that as if my life depends on it.I have to trust Him with this.
This doesn’t mean I’m not grieving. But those are the truths I need to hold onto like a pole in the middle of a hurricane.
